They are companies registered as Cansec partners who have technicians or installers that are trained to install and configure the Kindoo products. Once registered using the Kindoo smartphone application, each company will be assigned a PIN number of their choice. The PIN number should then be shared among the technicians or the installers of their companies. When the technicians or installers use the Kindoo application to configure the Kindoo products they will be prompted to enter their company name and PIN number.

The installer, who wires up and configures the KIN W (or KIN D) with the Kindoo application, is the first administrator of the site or premise. The installer uses the application to send email invitations to other users, e.g. superintendent and manager, of a premise and designates them as additional site administrators or as regular users. Administrators can add or remove any administrator, manager or user. Site administrators can only view and manage sites that they are authorized. However, installers can view and manage all the sites that he has created but his administrative role may be removed at any time by the site administrator, e.g. superintendent, or leave his role intact for the purpose of supporting the site.
There are 3 roles defined. Administrators, Manager and Guest. Administrators have full management access to the system. Managers can only invite, revoke and assign digital card to guests. Guests can only use the application as digital card.
A site is the location where at least one KIN W (or KIN D) reader is installed. The installer uses the Kindoo application to create and name the site, e.g. Main Office, ABC Corp, etc. There can be many KIN W (or KIN D) readers installed at a site, and each KIN W (or KIN D) reader must be individually scanned, configured and named accordingly, e.g. front door, back door, etc, and added to the site.

No, your company needs to register only once. You just need to sign up for an account, if you have not done so, then login. When creating any new site you will be prompted for the name of your company and the PIN number assigned to your company when first registered as a partner. However, if you company has not registered then you can register on behalf of your company.
KIN W is a Bluetooth Low Energy reader which outputs Wiegand format in either the standard 26-bit format or the Cansec proprietary 37-bit format. The KIN W reader is not an access control device and must be connected to any access control system that supports Wiegand input. The KIN W reader is not a NFC reader and is managed via the Kindoo application.
The KIN W itself does not require internet access at all since it’s hard wired to an access control panel. The Kindoo application communicates with the KIN W via BLE signal so no internet connection is involved. However, the smartphone still requires internet access for any system updates from the Kindoo server, e.g. credential transfer or revocation, including but not limited to an application update.

A KIN W digital card is an electronically encrypted unique identification number created by the Kindoo server. From your phone, please ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and the phone has an active internet connection. Place your phone close to the KIN W reader while scanning. If the KIN W has already been allocated to a site to which you are not authorized then you will get that error message. If you are still not able to scan it, please verify that it is correctly installed and powered on. Also, verify that you have the correct reader type. There are 2 types of readers, KIN W reader and KIN D reader. If you create a site of type W but your reader is of type D then that error message will also appear. It depends on the access control system that you use. The 26-bit is the standard Wiegand format which will work with most access control systems, and the Cansec proprietary 37-bit Wiegand format primarily works with Cansec access control systems.
Once an digital card has been assigned it is unique to that smartphone, and the digital card (facility code and number) must be entered in the access control system software just like any regular card or fob. To activate a device or gain access to a door, the application must be launched and run in the foreground in order to emit Bluetooth signal to the KIN W reader. The KIN W reader will then transmit the digital card information to the access control system. Leaving the Kindoo application running in the background will not work at all.
Unfortunately no. The administrator will have to revoke this digital card and assign you a new one.
It depends on how the installer configures and calibrates the KIN W reader. It can be configured to receive Bluetooth signal from close proximity to a maximum of 65 feet (20 m). The Kindoo application can also be configured to automatically emit a signal when within range or to emit a signal only when you manually press a button in the application.
Revoking a user from the Kindoo application is not enough. You must remove the digital card from the access control system software because that’s where your devices, e.g. lock, gate, etc, are being controlled. If not removed from the access control system then the revoked user can still gain access to your devices, because if his phone has no internet connection then the Kindoo application cannot connect to the Kindoo server to verify if the user is revoked or not.
If not already entered, a credit card number must be entered and saved in the application for the purpose of purchasing digital cards. The purchase is done through the Kindoo application by the system administrator. The digital card must first be purchased in a minimum quantity of 10 and thereafter an increment of 5 each time. Once purchased, the system administrator can then assign a digital card, which contains a facility code and an identification number of your choice, to a user by sending an email invitation through the Kindoo application.
Unfortunately no. If you login from a new phone, you will be prompted to activate the new phone and the old phone will be deactivated automatically. Each digital card is uniquely assigned to the phone, and therefore you must ask your administrator to transfer your digital card from the old phone to the new phone.

KIN D is a low Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) reader equipped with a dry contact relay. The relay can be used to connect to and control a single device, e.g. a lock, a gate, etc. Please refer to the installation guide for power requirements and wiring instructions. The KIN D reader is not a NFC reader and it does not support Wiegand output. If you are looking for the Wiegand output reader then it is the KIN W reader which must be connected to an access control system. The KIN D is usually installed and configured by the installer of a Cansec registered partner.

KIN D can be used in place of a simple access control system. The Kindoo application stores information in the Kindoo cloud server, and as such all managements and authorizations can be done in the Kindoo application and the information is propagated and applied from the Kindoo server to all other authorized phones only when the Kindoo application is launched from those phones. This is convenient in some situations. For example, at anytime and anywhere you can authorize certain users to access your devices, e.g. lock or gate, by sending email invitations. Those users can just download the Kindoo application and use it to access the device. When done, you can just revoke those users at any time and those users can be reused without having to purchase more users.
Normally the installer configures and manages the KIN D reader via the Kindoo application installed on a smartphone. After the setup is done, the installer then transfers the administrative role over to the end user, e.g. superintendent or manager.

You just have to login to the application using your email address and password. Next, leave the application run in the foreground and it will emit a BLE signal to the KIN D reader which in turn controls your device. It does not work if the application running in the background and if there is no internet connection from your phone.
