HURRICANE SYSTEM AND H1000 CONTROLLER

INTRODUCTION
The Hurricane system consists of Hurricane client/server software and H1000 control panels. The Hurricane system was originally launched in 2010 and evolved over the years with the last significant functions added in 2014. Since that time, development efforts have been focused on creating the next generation of system. This system consists of new client/server software (called First Access) and new access control panels (called MAPMINI, MAP1 and MAP2). The First Access software and MAP controllers are constantly being enhanced and are the primary platform for Cansec going forward.
In 2010 the CP40 controller was replaced by the H1000 controller. CP40 controllers are no longer manufactured or supported. However, the H1000 controller is a plug-compatible replacement which has the major advantage that it can be field upgraded to the new MAP2 controller for use with the latest First Access software.
In 2018 we ceased selling Hurricane systems for new installations and began using First Access. Although we continue to supply H1000 boards to replace failed CP40/H1000 boards, we will no longer supply these controllers for the expansion of existing Hurricane systems after the Last Purchase Date below. After that date, customers wishing to expand a Hurricane system will need to upgrade their Hurricane software to First Access software and upgrade their H1000 controllers to MAP2 controllers. Note: CP40 controllers cannot be upgraded.
H1000 LAST PURCHASE DATE FOR THE EXPANSION OF HURRICANE SYSTEMS - MAY 1, 2021
H1000 controllers will no longer be sold after May 1, 2021 for the expansion of existing Hurricane systems. Dealers undertaking Hurricane system expansions before the Last Purchase date must have the end user sign a Hurricane EOL Disclosure form confirming that they are fully aware of the Hurricane System's imminent End of Life. The Disclosure form must be countersigned by the installing dealer.
HURRICANE SYSTEM LAST SUPPORT DATE - APRIL 1, 2022
Effective April 1, 2022 support for the Hurricane software and hardware will no longer be available from Cansec. Hurricane systems can still be operated after this date but Cansec will not be providing any form of support for the software or hardware (except for the repair of H1000 controllers which are under warranty - see below).
H1000 WARRANTY
The five-year warranty (from the purchase date) will be honored for all H1000 controllers purchased on or prior to the Last Purchase Date.
FIRST ACCESS UPGRADE DISCOUNT
First Access software and MAP controllers purchased for an upgrade from Hurricane will be subject to a discount which will be determined on a case by case basis.
